This seminar report focuses on the proposal of different possible architectures of the Smart Street Light System.
Smart Street Light System using Embedded System: Seminar Report
The seminar report discusses the basic principle is to trigger a circuit using object detection and control all this using an embedded system. The architecture includes those blocks 1. Triggering system 2. Control system 3. Street lights. The main principle of this system is object detection and then triggering the respective circuit and providing light only at that part of a road where it is needed. Logically, this system may save a large amount of electrical power. In this paper, an efficient autonomous street lighting control and monitoring system. The advantages of the system can be summarized as follows. Huge energy can be saved without affecting the visibility and the safety of the drivers. It can extend the lifetime of the lamps. No expensive techniques like camera monitoring are required. Research extension to this work may include considering the security issues and the possible attacks on the system. The security measures have to be considered. We can also add Solar Cells to save power during the daytime and use it during the night.
Smart Street Light Control System: Seminar Report
This paper presents a new economical solution for street light control systems. The control system consists of control circuitry and electrical devices. This also includes a client-server mechanism where a user can directly interact with the web-based application to control the Streetlights from any place with the help of the android application. A street light control system has been developed to control and reduce the energy consumption of a town’s public lighting system. This ranges from controlling a circuit of street lights and/or individual light with an android application and network operating protocols. This includes sending and receiving instructions via separate data networks, at high frequency over the top of the low voltage supply or wireless. Street lights are connected to the junction. There are multiple junctions each junction covering some particular part of the city. The main aim is to provide IP to every junction which can be controlled through the internet.
The main motivation behind implementing the project is to save energy. It is an automated system designed to increase the efficiency and accuracy of automated time control, governed and pattern basis. The seminar report concludes that a Smart street lighting system is described that integrates new technologies offering ease of maintenance and energy saving. It tackles the problem of energy wastage which in turn reduces power consumption, increases road safety, and gives an efficient way to handle switching on/off streetlights by using an automatic and time scheduling approach.
